Cabbage Supper

photoI know this recipe may not look like much, but it has great flavor! It is from page 314 of Southern Living 1989 Annual Recipes cookbook.  It makes 4 servings.







Cabbage Supper

1 pound smoked turkey sausage, sliced
1 large onion, coarsely chopped
1 medium cabbage, coarsely chopped
2 large tomatoes, peeled and quartered
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/4 teaspoon seasoning blend
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/4 teaspoon hot sauce
4 slice bacon, cooked and crumbled

Cook sausage and onion in a large Dutch oven until sausage is browned; drain. Add cabbage; cover and cook over low heat 20 minutes. Add tomatoes and next 5 ingredients, tossing gently. Cook 3 minutes. Sprinkle with crumbled bacon.

Per serving – Calories: 481, Total Fat: 35.3g, Sat. Fat: 13.7g, Carbs: 21.2g, Fiber; 4.8g, Protein: 18.9g
